Cherries grow on a tree that is at least 3 to 4 years old. They will reach full maturity and full fruit production at 7 years. They produce fruit at the beginning of the summer. They require a period of cold to germinate.

Cherries are best kept in refrigerators packed in a plastic bag. Do not wash the cherries before storage because excess moisture will quicken decay.
